Have you ever tried to raise funds for a nonprofit?
I spent several years on the BOD of a small pregnancy center ... part of my (completely uncompensated) work was "fundraising".
IT.
AIN'T.
EASY.
Try it some time.
And yes, the bills have to be paid ... water, sewer, power, phone, lease, business association, a few paid staff, materials must be purchased ...
Heck ... it might have been easier if we had a product to sell.
They also have the diocese that funds them, and probably have investment income.
They are the catholic version of ACORN
But you are probably right..helping the poor is business...BIG business. Nowadays anyway.
The big question...do their taxes go toward any of this socialism or are they tax exempt. My bet is that the orders don’t pay taxes...but they want everyone elso to PAY MORE AND MORE AND MORE TAXES.
