I can’t read Hannity’s mind. People do strange things when they have power. What made Tiger Woods think he could do what he did with impunity?

The deal here is not that Hannity is dishonest. I certainly have no reason to believe he has made a penny from this. But when only about $3 out of $48 over the last several years has made it to the target group, you wonder about the good will of those who are running the show.

As one person put it, people bought a concert and they got a concert. But I would like to think that more than $0.06 of each of my dollars were on target, rather than paying professional sound, light, and venue people.

At their link (Freedom Alliance) they explain the low scholarships out. Most of those killed had young children. They are investing the money and it is being run as a trust fund for when the younger children are college age.

If you are referring to the $0.09 fundraising efficiency number that Debby Schussel referenced in her article from one of the Charity Watchdog groups then there is nothing to worry about because it appears that she got that number backwards. The nine cents is how much they spend in fundraising expenses to raise a dollar and a low number is good here. A large number on the other hand would indicate that they spend most of the money they raise on fundraising expenses.

I agree with you about having more money go to the charity. But...putting on an elaborate show is not cheap...I really do believe Hannity is “giving” as much as possible once expenses are paid (even if many believe that the expenses are steep).

You would like to think the concerts were completely without cost? Should they not have them because the light, sound, venue etc. are not free? What the heck is wrong with your head? You work for a nonprofit and don’t understand the basics of fund raising by holding events such as these? You better believe they are expensive. If you truly want to help you can add a “targeted donation” to their scholarship fund in addition to your ticket price.
