A number of powerful American Jewish leaders are upset with the president over escalating tensions between the U.S. and Israeland may take it out on the Democrats this fall.
When Secretary of State Hillary Clinton addresses some 7,500 delegates to the American Israel Public Affairs Committees Washington policy conference on Monday morning, the moment will be fraught. Its just possible that Clinton, accustomed to being love-bombed by the powerful pro-Israel lobbys conventioneers whenever she spoke as New Yorks junior senator, will be greeted with chilly silence or, worse, scattered boosthe AIPAC memberships angry response to the frayed and apparently deteriorating relationship between Israel and the United States.
Man, I wouldnt want to be Hillary Clinton going there at this point in time, says Manhattan billionaire James S. Tisch, chief executive of Loews Corp.the hotel, insurance and oil exploration conglomerateand a longtime activist in Jewish causes and philanthropies. I wouldnt be surprised if she gets a colda diplomatic sickness.
The 57-year-old Tisch, a big-money political donor who gives to both Democrats and Republicans and supported John McCain in the 2008 presidential election, is typical of wealthy Jewish supporters of Israel, especially in New York, who are bitterly opposed to President Obamas Middle East policies and harshly critical of the officials who are carrying them out. Tisch was one of a number of Jewish leaders interviewed by the Daily Beast who were angry at Obamaso much so that they think the issue could affect Jewish donations to Democratic candidates this fall.

I’ll be convinced they’ve awoken only if and when they refuse en masse to vote for Obama in 2012.
Unfortunately, they demonstrated in 2008 that they can be had for just a promise or two. My guess is that he, and they, will repeat in 2012.
They just seem wired, for some tragic reason, to vote in favor of their eventual extinction, time after time supporting liberal fascists that would love to see the annihilation of Israel, from Carter to this doofus now.
So, don’t tell me: Show me.
Tough turds.
The Jewish vote is second only to the black vote in loyalty to the Dem party. They got what they voted for.
That's true for any people but the problem here like with the African American community is that you only hear about the left side. Hollywood, the media make it sound like that's all there is.
Reagan won double the amount of Jewish vote that McCain did...after Carter proved he was no friend of Israel. But is ten times worse than Carter, and leaves little doubt he is out to wreck Israel completely. With a small margin in 2012, this could very well make the difference for the GOP. We need to exploit Jewish anger towards the First Imam at every chance.
Y’all got your hope and change!! Some people are just never happy I guess.
This is the problem AIPAC is loaded with Israel hating JINO.
Orthodox Jews would not back this Pres, from the people I know.
The membership must get reality based leaders on the Board.
My fear is that the Christian community might abandon Israel.
I know the Admin dismisses the CC, but there is power in numbers. We need desperatly to get the Jewish community on our side of this issue.
68% of Orthodox Jews supported Bush in 2004. I don't have data for 2008. They are growing, averaging 7 KIDS per family! Meanwhile liberal Jews are converting, turning gay and having abortions. So there is a lot of hope for the future.
ABOUT time the Jewish community wakes up.
Yup... what the heck took them so long??
It may take an overt act by Zero to convince them.
Then ofcourse it may be to late. Well maybe not to late, but d*** close to it.
Until the Nov elections, it's all talk. I will believe it when I see it.
Community loaded with JINOs.
You suicidal morons are a disgrace to the title "Jew".
One of Obama’s muzzie bros was on FOX NeWS this morning, calling for Muslim revolt in America. Makes one wonder why FOX would air this on the heels of Murdoch’s new Arab connections. Is this a sign of things to come?
True, they are the stalwarts on this issue.
Exactly. YOU “leaders” voted for him! WE rednecks were the ones looking out for Israel!
I find it hard to care about the Jews (American liberal Jews) when they don’t care about themselves.
