A decennial tradition that dates back 220 years to the days of George Washington continues today when federal census forms start arriving at more than 120 million households across the United States.
But hanging over this 23rd U.S. census are concerns about a decline in participation.
While the U.S. census has always evoked some resentment toward the feds for poking their nose into people's business, there's a sense that America's distrust of the government has reached greater heights and could contribute to poor census returns.

Our census arrived today. Mr Ditter and I are going to fill it out tonight.
Just received mine in today’s mail. Looking forward to the fun !! Take care one and all !
Well, speak of the devil.
I just got my census in the mail.
Mine too
i just got mine today. WTH difference does it make if I am white black or Eskimo?
I gave the # of people and our birthdates.
Also wanted to know if we rent or own. Again why does this matter in a head count?
I say everyone mark down yourself as “NEGRO”
Yet in question #2 the ask that question about any "additional people staying here April 1, 2010 that you did not include in Question 1". Dunderheads. They are dunderheads. Nowhere does it inquire into one's citizenship. Nowhere.
Great.
Nope. I'm going with MYOB myself, maybe NOYB occasionally, just to throw them off...
You do understand...that that is a choice in the race section, right?
Sure, but it’s none of their business, IMO.
RE: “And you sound like a Government troll...do you get paid by the post or the thread?”

Agree — WAY too much from this new poster re census and decades’ worth of census forms. Claims to be genealogy buff; more like govt. drone?
Oohhhh, just thought of something, should I count the three dogs ?? They are VERY family :)
My point was for ALL to mark it.
Sigh.....
RE: “Hey dopey..did it ever occur to you that this isnt my first account here?
Some people need to remove their tin foil.”

Maybe not your first post, but there hasn’t been too much else — I checked BEFORE commenting on your posts.
I’m curious, why do you care?
I’m not happy with lying to them, that’s different than refusing to give information that’s not covered by the Constitution.
I just opened our census form and I didn’t find anything intrusive in it. They asked name, age and race, nothing more. I remember from past census there were long forms that some people talked about but not everyone got one of those. We never did, that I can recall. This seems pretty straight forward and simple, if you ask me.
RE: “As is one of the “tinfoilers” you and NYM disparage throughout this thread. Where we disagree is the on extent of the intrusion.
The only answer they need for the purpose you stated is a number...one number...how many citizens live at your address. Period.
All else is immaterial to apportioning representation and can/has/will be used for purposes that are (best case)not the USG’s business or (worst case) detrimental to Liberty.”

Yeah, call me a tinfoiler, too. I’ll happily take that label. I got the idiot census form today, short version (got long one in 2000, the one with number of toilets question, ad nauseum).
Even so, the ten current questions are too many. I answered number of people, current age, sex AND race. That’s plenty for ‘re-apportioning’ etc. NOTHING ELSE. That’s more than they need to know already! — if they try to come to my door, no one will EVER answer. The unanswered info is public knowledge; let them go look for it.
