Sorry but I think Stupak et all are going to roll over like a cheap whore when the pressure gets put on them. If we haven’t learned “The Fable of the Moderate Democrat” yet, we need to go back to school.

Yes, their verve for the issue isn't like a Sunday school teacher's. Stupik and his ilk's version of pro-life-ism is a device to use to hold out their hand to be greased (think Landrieu, Nelson), and to increase their red-district's constituents' support.

The "publicity" Stupak's been getting for months now is all from the labor leftists, the feminazis, Rachel Maddow, and Daily Kos, and they all want his guts in a Hefty bag.

This is not a slick career move on Stupak's part. It may be the one of the most principled stands I've seen in my years of observing the political world.

He speaks up clearly, and he'll pay up personally. I admire him for it.
