Subject Health Reform, done right

Message “Affordable” health care? HAH! What has been proposed so far is only “affordable” to the degree that it is made unavailable. And not only unavailable, but equally unavailable to ALL. So there isn’t even a parallel system in place where, for enough money, dramatic new and effective forms of medical treatment may be applied. The only reason that the Canadian system, which rations every aspect of health services delivered, is even still working, is that Canadians with severe and pressing medical problems may come to the United States and be treated immediately, without regard to “fairness” or “equitibility”.

Sure, the manner in which health care is delivered in this country costs a lot. And why is that? There is very little of what may be called “competition” in the field of health insurance payment options, and the very delivery of health services is threatened daily by overwhelming nuisance lawsuits drawn up against practitioners of the medical arts, which are without merit, but do consume the time of the medical profession, and more importantly, drive up the cost of malpractice insurance, which is paid for at only one place - charged to the patient’s account. It matters not if the patient pays cash out of pocket, or a third-party pays on the patient’s behalf. When the malpractice insurance burden is too great to be borne by the cash flow of the medical facility, that becomes a strong argument for simply closing down the facility or delivery of services altogether. No less than any other enterprise, medical practice NEEDS positive cash flow to continue in existence. Frivolous lawsuits erode that cash flow.

Number one reform? Start with tort law, and most importantly, “loser pays”.

Next on the list? Open up, REALLY open up, the options for obtaining pre-paid health care and medical delivery plans, like Medical Savings Accounts, Separate health benefits from place and conditions of employment, to which it should never have been attached in the first place. Allow purchase of health plans WITHOUT massive mandates to cover ALL conditions under ALL policies.

And finally, get the government OUT of the administration of health services delivery. On all levels. Almost every bit of these services may be contracted out, at less cost than maintaining the facilities and personnel, and may be expanded or contracted as needed.

The answers are relatively simple, but that does not mean they are easy to apply, so long as there is this “entitlement” mentality out there.

Absolutely, these people have paid into the program their entire lifetime. There is no place for these people to go except back to the government who gladly took their money.

My husband and I contributed into the government Social Security program for a combined 60 years. Little did we know that at the age when we needed the money, it wouldn't be there and that we would be treated like second rate citizens because we need to collect on the money that was taken from us.

Why is there not a republican or Conservative site that does the same thing? It is a good idea.

Thing is though that twice as many horrors and denials of health services come from medicare versus any other private insurance.

Matthew 24:1-8 gives the background and sheds light on the various horses and riders described in Revelation chapter 6. I’ve highlighted certain words for emphasis:

And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to [him] for to shew him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? Verily I say unto you, there shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 3 And as He sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of Thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

In the Gospel account, Jesus made it clear that imposters would arise and deceive many. The rider on the white horse represents ALL the deceivers, especially a certain last-days dictator sometimes called the antichrist or subsititute messiah.
