Still cannot believe some of the people who were defeated. Six thousand more votes for George Allen and ZERO probably wouldn’t be President.
Ever so often I get mad about that mentality all over again as some still pontificate and rail against Republicans. I don’t remember one of them saying they should have voted either. When they stay home in a Senate race, it is six years of a liberal because someone wasn’t ‘pure’ enough for their standards. Lately getting irritated has been coming closer together as we witness what is happening in DC.
Yes, he’s worried about health care. He’s worried about depending on Nancy Pelosi because Pelosi is worried about her job as speaker of the house, but the real reason that Obama didn’t go on his trip is because he has nothing to show for his first year as president and a demonstrated failure abroad would guarantee a failure on health care...and vice versa.
I agree that the Republican in-fighting gave us Obama, but first it gave us McCain. I only hope that the infighting does not give us Romney. The media is clamoring for a Romney nomination. They were ready for him last time, but preferred McCain. I almost didn’t vote in the presidential primary because by the time WA got to vote, the choice had been made and none of the contenders were any good. I don’t trust Romney because he passed Romneycare in Mass., not because he is a Mormon or was once pro-choice. Romney is too ready to compromise with the liberals. He doesn’t seem to be well centered, to have and depth of principles.
BARLF, who was the senator your state lost? I don’t see a state flag on your profile, that’s why I’m asking.
And as for PhiKapMom’s mention of George Allen, what heartbreak that brings back. I still think about him; I thought he was great.
He also was supposed to visit Australia, one of our very most important allies. Now, this cancellation or delay inconveniences many people and sets back good relations. I have never seen such a klutzy foreign relations prezident in my life as this one. Our Asian ties are increasingly important, because we are competing with China for alliances in the area.
Amen. No offense to your profession:), but these labyrinthine rules are obviously the product of over-educated (mostly democrat or all democrat) lawyers.
Missouri the *Show Me State*
I recall that was very close. It shows how important every vote is.
Plus we are infested with Carnahan parasites.
Obama lost Missouri to McCain in 2008 by a small margin, at least that was a relief.)
yes it would ... but... :)
