Stupak, Beware The Senate Democrats
IBD's Capital Hill ^ | 3/11/2010 | Ed Carson

Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., leads a dozen or so House Democrats who may oppose the Senate bill because it isn’t sufficiently strict on abortion funding. He’s working on a solution, but there’s a big problem, notes Jay Cost at Real Clear Politics. It isn’t the House Democrats, Cost says. They grudgingly accepted tougher abortion language in their health bill last November. And it isn’t Senate Republicans, despite some GOP threats to block an abortion funding “fix.”

Somebody needs to thank Captain Obvious and remind him that he, too, is a Democrat. Democrat corruption doesn’t stop at the Senate chamber door. I quit trusting all politicians, regardless of party affiliation, a very long time ago......

Unfortunately, Bart Stupak isn’t smart enough to see this. He will compromise as needed and the Bill will pass. He can then wash his hands of the whole affair once it becomes the law of the land. He will blame the Senate and will still maintain his pro-life banner. His constituents are stupid too!

Once Stupak votes for the pro-abortion Senate bill, he is on the hook. Stupak will need 50 votes for language to strip out abortion funding in the Senate, don’t count on enough Republicans to carry Stupak’s water.
Voters will blame the Stupak if he makes such a detestable decision.

Beware anyone who would have you believe Bart Stupa is principled - any more than Mary Landrieu or Ben Nelson is.
Stupa is just holding out for the maximum pork, or maybe an Ambassadorship.

When he gets what he wants, whatever that may be, he'll fold like a cheap suit.

"His constituents are stupid too!"

Almost by definition: they elected him, after all.

You've nailed it. We can argue about whether he's (a) too dumb to see this or (b) knows perfectly well that he's "being conned" and doesn't mind one bit because his anti-abortion position isn't sincere and he's a Democrat first and everything else second.

Personally, I lean toward (b).

PLEASE CALL! DC OFFICE LOCAL OFFICE State District

Code Red” - House Target List on Health Care

The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

I heard on the radio a couple of days ago that stupak supports the CURRENT level of funding for planned parenthood, the chief provider of GENOCIDE of the Unborn.

Kind of makes the man a fraud if true.

You may be on to something there. The economy in Michigan is in such a deplorable state that even Michael Moore is conceding that Republicans will be winning a lot there this fall. And in the far north where Stupak is from the economy is lackadaisical under the best of circumstances. Ambassador to Grenada may be looking pretty good to him at this time.

Hey, don't blame me, pal. When he was in Tawas City the other night, an audience member asked him where they think they have the authority to force the bill on us. He said Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution. Then, he started arguing with the citizen and said that it doesnt say anything about taxes in there either.

Article 1, Section 8: "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;..."

Bart's STUPID.

Why isn't his priest speaking out against this, against public funding of abortion, against Planned Parenthood. Why isn't he threatening excommunication? Isn't it his duty as a Shepard of his flock to offer a chance to stop sinning. Stupak wants to sin with impunity, there is no good reason or excuse. Marxism is evil and unbiblical and if Stupak read the bible St Paul warned against making deals with pagans and compromising the message of the Gospel all for the sake of getting along. There is no “for the greater good” or “the lesser of two evils” clause in the New Testament. Mr Stupak, Jesus is knocking on the door to your heart, you are astray and need to get right with him. You need to stop sinning and drop your greed, avarice and convetneness. You have a duty as a Christian to protect innocent human life, no greater sacrifice. But I will not cut him any slack, I think the guy is gone, he has chosen and chosen Satan. He needs to be voted out of office and excommunicated

Dirty little secret is that the Catholic Bishops apparently WANT socialized medicine, and they seem willing to live with the possibility of tax-funded abortions in order to get it. No other way to explain their recent meetings with Obama’s thugs (and deafening silence througout this process).

That I can’t explain, I’m a holy roller, not a Catholic. It probably was in a MUST have bill.
