Nuts, rediculous, and all that. I don’t think there is any way this could ever pass the Constitutional muster. Even today.
well they had certainly better hope it never comes before Chief Justice Roberts, given the way the Alinskyites are going after him today
I agree. But... There is the "enrolled bill" rule. Meaning that the Supreme Court has ruled that once the leaders of the House and Senate formally attest that a bill was passed by the House and Senate, the Courts cannot go back and second guess them. That is a good rule if the House and Senate aren't run by a bunch of crooks. If they are...
I'm not a pitch fork kind of guy, but if they can do this, why do we bother having rules?
If they get it passed this way and then years later the USSC strikes it down the hundreds of thousands of new nomenklatura will have been hired and The Republicans, no matter what their status, will not vote to fire all those new “employees”. We will be stuck with them. The level of government control is directly related to the number of bureaucrats. The legislated control creates the jobs but if the jobs are filled and the powers taken away, the jobs and new bureaucrats won’t go away. They will just be shifted in emphasis somewhat.
