In 2006, the Mark Foley page scandal brought Studds’s name into prominence again, as media pundits compared the actions of Foley and Congress in 2006 to Studds and Congress in 1983. Studds died on October 14, 2006 in Boston, at age 69, several days after suffering a pulmonary embolism...
(and Congress mourned his passing at the same time they were railing against the Republicans’ culture of corruption going into 2006’s November Democrat sweep of Congress).
I just did some research on Ron Hikel who is reported to be the chief of staff of Massa, the one who reported it.
He gave two fair size donations to Massa’s campaign. My question is why would he do that if he felt there was a problem. Surely if he was his chief of staff he knew him well enough to know that prior to giving the donations.http://www.campaignmoney.com/political/contributions/ronald-hikel.asp?cycle=08
This stinks to me!
