So it is required by law to provide each and every name in said household?
This is the first time I have read that.
Just want to get this correct so I can tell them off with confidence if the need arises.

I've done genealogy for decades and so am familiar with the old census records...

Names/ages/sex of members of household - and occupation (not WHERE worked, just occupation.) That's it.

and they won't get one whit more from me - I will remind them that the “”MUST RESPOND” does NOT mean, legally, must ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS.

So with those few bare facts - I will have “responded.”

And those old census records are invaluable for searching your family tree. Although sometime hilarious -and not always correct, especially as to spelling. For ex: they have my grandmother, Mable, as “May Belle” - so trust, but verify, if you're doing your genealogy. ;o)
