Sarah only has publicly supported one bailout, that is TARP I that was promoted by Hank Paulson. And her support of TARP I was based on SUPPORTING JOHN MCCAIN’S DECISION to back Paulson and Bush; and now McCain claims he was misled by Paulson and Bush to the use of the funds. That’s like blaming an ex-wife for her husband deciding to take a government loan in his business when she had virtually no say in the decision, being essentially a cheerleader and after her ex-husband does a mea culpa that he shouldn’t have taken the loan in the first place.

That put her in a “supermajority” on the issue, but I’m not sure that made her position the right one. I also got very sick of hearing them say this was a bad bill but they had no choice. Would like to see this hashed in the campaign, but that’s probably too much to hope for.
I may be getting into “tin foil” territory here but I think this was a manufactured crisis (though it created definite dangers) which achieved precisely the hoped for results.
God, it disturbs me to think the Democrats are actually that smart.
I also believe McCain’s weak and undeceive response to the hurricane threat, as well as the financial crisis cost him the election. As Rush has pointed out, we HAVE to do a better job of selecting our leaders.
