White House Says No Quid Pro Quo Over Health Care (Obama still buying votes)
fox news ^ | 3/4/2010 | Dominique Pastre

The White House is denying that its nomination of Scott Matheson for U.S. Circuit Court Judge has anything to do with the fact that his brother, Congressman Jim Matheson, is on the fence when it comes to supporting the President's health care reform proposal.

The Utah Democrat, who last year voted against the health care bill in the House, was invited to the White House Wednesday evening for a reception to thank members of Congress who supported Pay-As-You-Go or PAYGO legislation. The list of invitees for the reception included several lawmakers who remain undecided on the current reform proposal the President has outlined.

Conservative bloggers and some Republicans have suggested that the nomination of Scott Matheson for the Tenth Circuit is an effort by the Obama administration to buy his brother's vote on health care.

Yes, he’s 8, there is also Madi 5 (great grand), Halle 9, Trent 12, Chris 19, Jessie 34— Madi’s mom, Rebecca and Jennifer in their mid 20’s. They may only be mine through marriage (except Matt) but I couldn’t love them any less than I do him.

I’m a good granny, I treat them all alike. (I went through the ‘favorite ones’ with my own grandma, and swore I’d treat all mine alike.)

I’m proud of ya GailA.
My mom remarried when I was 4 and I was always the “stepson” who was never treated like the others by my dads mother.
Kids know it and feel it.

I never forgot those hurt feelings, and I sure wasn’t going to repeat them with any of my grandkids, however I acquired them. My step daughters are all very nice, warm loving girls. I don’t know my step son that well as they live in FL and we haven’t been down to visit yet. The girls live much closer and come here a couple of times a year.

Never knew any but my Mom’s parents, the rest were gone before I was born.

I had a wonderful step DAD, he treated all us kids a like. My parents divorced shortly after I was born, he was a skirt chaser back then, and not in my life very much. I still loved him, but not to the depth that I did the man who I proudly called DAD.

Yes kids know when you don’t like or love them. Madi and Matt being the youngest pull at my heart strings the most, but I treat them all alike. It’s nice to have little girls to sew for and they love it when I make them outfits, I had 4 boys, only 2 are living.

“but not to the depth that I did the man who I proudly called DAD”
Same here
When I was about 40 he came back to try to get in to my life and I just let it be known I didn’t need a dad at that point.
The man who I called dad for 36 years had died at that point of colon cancer.
“he was a skirt chaser back then”.
Rough.
It means other things were just more important.
Been married for 31 years to the most wonderful fun lady in the world and though I love to talk to men and ladies, my heart is and always will be with her.
Sets a wonderful exmple for our son don’t ya know.
“Only 2 are Living”.Can not imagine the pain that would bring.
GOD bless and take care and keep loving them babies.
And the pleasure is all mine mam.

My first husband raised his hand to me once. I told him he had to go to sleep some time. And when he picked up our 6 week old son to spank for having colic, I walked out and never looked back. Then spent 10 years as a single mom, until God sent a wonderful man who became my boys Dad, we had 23 years before a massive heart attack claimed him. Been married to this new wonderful man 2 years in Sept. GOD IS GOOD. May He bless you and your wife with 60 years or more loving each other.

Gail,
My wife ran a Deli for Albertsons for 25 years. I was afraid of her hitting me cause of that slicer motion.
NEVER have nor would raise a hand to her.
Can’t strike what GOD gave me.
Can’t say how many times she’s wanted to lay in to me though.
:-)

With the exception of #1, I’ve been blessed, late husband and I never had even a verbal fight in 23 years and Dean and I haven’t had one in the 4 years we’ve know each other.

Now my boys will tell you I swung a mean belt when on very rare severely provoked occasions (like when they oldest nearly set his grand dad’s field on fire), with lots of noise...LOL I know how hard I hit, cause I’d get a few backlashes when I swung it. More noise than pain. But I ruled the roost, because I wouldn’t let them get the upper hand. They turned out to be fine men.

Now IF only I could get them to give their hearts to Jesus, my joy would be overwhelming.

I’d bet they all are closer to the LORD than you’d believe.
Remember, they become their parents
