She might be describing you as having to ask:
> Did You Feel It ?
Thanks
It was a bit disconcerting after the 6.X quake downisland to be digging into a wall area to run some phone cords or something . . . and to discover some such oil can use! LOL.
Pensacola Beach?
Yeah, I realized that after I posted.
Thx.
Pole shifting,...2012,...here we come. Start building the arks.
LOL.
INDEED!
Interestingly, I edited professional papers in English for one of Taiwan’s top geologists.
He said that Kending is on a unique geological feature more connected with an area toward the Philippines than the rest of Taiwan—and more stable. Odd that there would be a kind of island of supposedly more solidity in such a tumble of pressured plates & junctures.
Most areas in EQ zones have been building with a plan to minimize damage to buildings and roads during quakes. Yet as what happened during the 6.7 Magnitude Northridge quake, it's not a safe assumption that the building you're in or the freeway you're traveling on will be able to withstand a quake.
For example the relatively new Golden State Freeway overpass which collapsed sending a motorcycle LEO to his early death had been retrofitted/
Also while a building might remain standing, it's the contents within which also present tremendous hazards to humans.
Hopefully there will be no injuries in this Taiwan quake.
I just went and looked up the last greater than 8.0 quake. It was a 8.1 one on September 29, 2009 in the Samoa Islands, less than 15 hours later there was a 7.5 quake in Indonesia. I was kind of surprised.
Wow! The Tectonic machine has been very violent lately!
Ahhhh . . . I worked in Taoyuan, too.
according to the responses at USGS it seems Tannin wasn’t hit to bad. But what do you say?
Yes, me too.
THANKS THANKS.
So glad to hear your son is home safe and sound.
Wish we didn’t have to let our kids roam so far away!
Thanks. He’s had several close calls on his business travels overseas. His military service was a piece of cake in comparison.
I live up in the Sierra Nevada mountains (western side). A little over a decade ago Mammoth Lakes was more active and we’d feel the earthquakes every so often. I think they had to be up near 5.0 magnitude for us to feel hear (roughly 50 miles away). They were enough of a shake to notice, but not enough to be scary.
Of course Godzilla DUH you are George Bush of Asia LOL!
It always your fault when earth shakes
Oh my goodness! RushmoreRocks, it's great to hear that your son arrived home safely!
I am so sorry to hear that he was injured but again, it's great to hear that he's back home again. That had to be horrifying during the quake and afterwards as well. God Bless him and you too!
That should be "feel it here". Sigh, always see typos/grammatical errors after posting.
Here we go again.
