-"Thune 2012" What "budget" has he been responsible-for besides his own personal/campaign budget?

After 20 hours of debate the Repubs can offer unlimited numbers of amendments which should be a very effective way to slow this government run monster down. Also, it’s a virtual certainty that the Senate Parliamentarian will advise the leadership against using Reconciliation in order to try and pass Obamacare. The Senate Parliamentarian has no legal authority, he only offers public advise to members/leadership on the Rules of the Senate. The ultimate power is with Joe Biden, the President of the Senate. Can you imagine the backlash against the WH/Dems when the Parliamentarian comes out against using this procedure and is overruled by the Vice President? It will be earth moving, the Dems will surely lose both the House and Senate this year. Then again maybe they already believe that and are saying “what the hell, we don’t have anything to lose.”

"Thune 2012 "

One of the weird things happening in America right now is, everytime someone says something that sounds a little profound, or says he drives a pickup truck, the shouts for that person to run in 2012 ring out.

The current oaf we have in the Oval Office muttered the words "hope" and "change", and the gullible flocked around him like he was Christ himself reborn.

I mean, shouldn't there be more than just one or two utterances, or augenblicks of bravdo before we start printing the campaign posters?

Running the elections and picking candidates like we bet on the Friday night high school football team is what has got us into the mess we're in.

One guy yells out "you lie" during an obama speech, and the next day they're wanting to pick him a VP. Sure, it was brave. Sure it was true. But he was just doing what the rest of our Representatives should be doing...being brave. Yelling "you lie" and running country are two different things, entirely.

After Scott Brown won, some just wanted to skip the U.S. Senator thing and boost him straight on to the White House. Why? Because he drives a pickup? Because he posed (almost)nude? Because he's good looking?

Great, but let him do a Silverado commercial or replace Letterman on a TV Talk show, but President?

I know we are solidly collectively desparate for a leader; a leader that is a Patriot; a leader that loves America; a leader to leads...but let's don't get too desparate, as big mistakes are sometimes made in desparate circumstances.

Next election we need to look at leadership, morals, courage, patriotism, track record, experience, and someone not connected to the Washington elite power structure...but let's make sure we don't pick them because they can say "Peter Piper Picked A Peck of Picked a Peck of Pickled Peppers" well, because they drive a Jeep, or some other silly, Sesame Street reason.

Just sayin'...../rant off
