Speaking of precinct meetings (or conventions), four of us showed up at ours tonight. Our precinct was entitled to send about 17 delegates (and a bunch of alternates) to the next level convention, so the four of us voted for ourselves and left about 13 slots vacant. And two of the four said they would not attend the next level convention. I went primarily to see if any Paulbots showed up. I’m pretty sure none did.
The Republican Party conventions seem pretty useless. If Paulbots, Truthers, or Birthers took over the entire machinery (including the state convention), I really cannot see how it would matter. They could pass a bunch of pointless resolutions, but nothing else as far as I can see.
I call our precinct the Red Hat Lady society. Only a couple of us under 40, just a social club for old ladies and if you aren’t in their circle, they’ll just have you sit in the corner. One thing the Paultards do well is taking these over and getting their people to be active in them. We need to think about this here in the future and focus on education and planning for these positions.
Pretty much. I'd add that wouldn't be much different from the status quo. The only thing that would change is the content of the pointless resolutions that nobody reads. The current State Republican Convention is little more than a giant tent revival meeting run by the kookiest of kooky TBN-style religious fundamentalist wack-a-doodles. I honestly can't see how the Paulbots would make it any more of a freak show than it is. It'd just be a different cult in charge.
It's dumb to let those slots go to waste. You should have had a list of people to nominate. That way you can counteract the Paulistas in other precincts.
