Dead Yemeni child bride tied up, raped, says mom

SHUEBA, Yemen – A 13-year-old Yemeni child bride who bled to death shortly after marriage was tied down and forced to have sex by her husband, according to interviews with the child's mother, police and medical reports.

The girl's mother, Nijma Ahmed, 50, told the Associated Press that before her daughter lost consciousness, she said that her husband had tied her up and forced himself on her. "She looked like she was butchered," she said about her daughter's injuries.

According to police notes from the interrogation of the husband, he was upset because he could not consummate their relationship and felt under pressure to prove his manhood.

Assi's mother said she also tried to persuade her daughter to have sex with her husband so as not to shame the family.

Al-Hikmi took his young bride to a nearby medical clinic, asking a doctor there to administer her tranquilizers so she would not resist his advances. The clinic said it refused.

Al-Hikmi then obtained performance enhancing pills, according to the police interrogation, and that night completed the act while she screamed.

The next day, he returned to the same medical clinic carrying Assi because she could not walk.

Her mother said she visited Assi later that day, where she found her daughter fading in and out of consciousness.

"She whispered in my ear that he had tied her up and had sex with her violently," she said. "I said to her husband, what have you done, you criminal?"

She said al-Hikmi told her that the young bride was just possessed by spirits and said he would take her to a folk healer to cast them out. Hours later, Assi was dead.

"She asked me to stay beside her," her mother said.

I don't usually post articles like this. They make me sick. This kind of thing needs to be known. This is what we must deal with and it is invading us, U. S.
How can this woman call herself mother and call the husband, who she willingly gave her daughter to, a criminal?
In my eyes, they are BOTH criminal. This child is at peace now. There is no forgiveness for those who murdered her....including the mother.

Brzezinski: Bold move needed to advance peace
Ex-US official urges Obama to visit Mideast, refer peace plan to UN if needed

WASHINGTON – US President Barack Obama should make a dramatic trip to the Middle East, introduce a new peace plan, and refer it to the United Nations should Israel or the Palestinians refuse to endorse it, a former senior US official says.

In a Washington Post piece he co-wrote, Former National security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski argues that "Only a bold and dramatic gesture in a historically significant setting can generate the political and psychological momentum needed for a major breakthrough."

Notably, Brzezinski recently participated in a meeting held by President Obama with several senior figures and specialists to discuss his new Mideast peace plan.

The US president should appear both at the Knesset and before the Palestinian parliament and announce his new plan for ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Brzezinski wrote.

"He should do so in the company of Arab leaders and members of the Quartet," he wrote. "A subsequent speech by Obama in Jerusalem's Old City, addressed to all the people in the region and evocative of his Cairo speech to the Muslim world in June 2009, could be the culminating event in this journey for peace."

However, Brzezinski warns that "If the Israelis or the Palestinians refuse to accept this basic formula as the point of departure for negotiations, the Obama administration must be prepared to pursue its initiative by different means."

"The administration must convey to the parties that if the offer is rejected by either or both, the United States will seek the UN Security Council's endorsement of this framework for peace," he wrote, "thus generating worldwide pressure on the recalcitrant party."

I hate these people.

Well this is no surprise to any who know how the muslim children are seen and treated by both men and woman. You are right to say this child is safe now and their only hope from a brutal life. I am grateful for her death for it brought her to the arms of the one who truly loves and keeps her safe. Can you even imagine the life she would have had she survived this brutal assault?

I am fast understanding that the attention given to muslim womans plight is misplaced as they are equally if not more responsible for how these children are treated. This article represents just a small example of the impact muslim woman have in their childrens abuses....and it sure isn't to protect them.
