The first year of employment for federal workers, they get 13 vacation days and 13 sick leave days - which adds up to 26 days off work. Anyone else seeing a new hire getting almost a full month not working and getting paid for it as "typical" for employers in today's working world?????? See link below:

Snip: Federal employees receive both vacation and sick leave. They earn 13 days of vacation leave a year for the first 3 years of service, 20 days a year for the next 12 years, and 26 days a year after their 15th year of service. Workers also receive 13 days of sick leave a year.

Maine Officials see increase in Lyme disease cases

Dr. Dora Anne Mills of the Maine Center of Disease Control says 50 cases were reported in the state in January and February. That's up from a five-year average of 15 for those two months.
