The insane are running the asylums around the world!

They know full well what they are doing to us and to our nation - make no mistake of it! Here's some quotes for today. By the way, Happy Easter! At least Bing has a picture on it celebrating the day in its way!

“The difference is that a statesman thinks he belongs to the State, and a politician thinks the State belongs to him”

Everyone wants to live at the expense of the state. They forget that the state lives at the expense of everyone. Frederic Bastiat, quotes

“The rule of law can be wiped out in one misguided, however well-intentioned, generation.”  William T. Gossett quotes

Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Thus the beneficiaries are spared the shame and danger that their acts would otherwise involve... But how is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them and gives it to the other persons to whom it doesn't belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime. Then abolish that law without delay ... No legal plunder; this is the principle of justice, peace, order, stability, harmony and logic.
-- Frederic Bastiat

We must be governed by the force of law, not by the law of force.
-- William Sloane Coffin

“Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive.”  C.S. Lewis quotes   “This and no other is the root from which a tyrant springs; when he first appears he is a protector.”  Plato quotes

“"The liberties of our country, the freedoms of our civil Constitution are worth defending at all hazards; it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors. They purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood. It will bring a mark of everlasting infamy on the present generation – enlightened as it is – if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of designing men." -Samuel Adams”

“Bad laws are the worst sort of tyranny.”  Edmund Burke quotes

“There is no crueler tyranny than that which is perpetuated under the shield of law and in the name of justice.”  Charles de Montesquieu quotes

“The Framers [of the Constitution] knew that free speech is the friend of change and revolution. But they also knew that it is always the deadliest enemy of tyranny.”  Hugo Black quote

The three aims of the tyrant are, one, the humiliation of his subjects; he knows that a mean-spirited man will not conspire against anybody; two, the creation of mistrust among them; for a tyrant is not to be overthrown until men begin to have confidence in one another -- and this is the reason why tyrants are at war with the good; they are under the idea that their power is endangered by them, not only because they will not be ruled despotically, but also because they are too loyal to one another and to other men, and do not inform against one another or against other men -- three, the tyrant desires that all his subjects shall be incapable of action, for no one attempts what is impossible and they will not attempt to overthrow a tyranny if they are powerless.Aristotle, quotes
