I was alive during carter- let’s see there was ‘national malaise’, gas lines, 18% mortgage interest rates, hostages in Iran, dead american soldiers in he failed ‘rescue’ attempt, Billy Beer, and what am I missing?

I remember something under Carter, I think called the misery index? It was a huge number for Carter, around 20 I think. I believe it was unemployment added to inflation.

You’re missing sitting in the dark with your coats on, so you won’t freeze, after you had turned the thermostat down, to save energy!!

dead american soldiers in he failed rescue attempt Pardon me, but I believe President Jimmy called that "an incomplete success," not a "failed rescue."
However, I agree with Levin. Oboozer is worse.

"Thanks for taking the bus and saving energy"

"I was alive during carter- lets see there was national malaise, gas lines, 18% mortgage interest rates, hostages in Iran, dead american soldiers in he failed rescue attempt, Billy Beer, and what am I missing? There was a sentiment foster greatly by the press, that the Presidency had grown beyond the ability of one man. We needed TWO presidents. One domestic, and one for foreign affairs.
No such talk again, once the Peanut was out. And yet libs think he was great, kind, good, and competent. I talk to them to this day, and they will NOT admit to what he was.

Double-digit inflation caused by Carter, had the American people seething in anger. It seemed like milk and bread was going up in price every week, outdistancing the meager pay me and my wife received. Carter had a “let them eat cake” attitude and didn’t care.
