Buffet to Obama: Start Over on Health Care [Daniel Foster]
Billionaire financier Warren Buffet, who is believed to have the president's ear, told CNBC this weekend that if he were President Obama, he would scrap the current health-care bill and zero in on "cost, cost, cost" in a bill that could gain broad bipartisan support, instead of "dream[ing] up 2,000 pages of other things."
Buffet said that expanding coverage should take a back seat to controlling costs. "I believe in insuring more people, but I don't believe in insuring more people until you address. . . the cost aspect of this," he said.
So now Warren Buffett is a racist and guilty of hate speech?
Who campaigned for Obama????
The Sage of Omaha....hehe
Buffett just fell off the White House Christmas card list.
Very funny, mis-informed, and must be out of the loop.
If by going back to square one Obama and the Democrats are expected to drop everything they’ve been pushing for, then does that mean the Republicans have to drop all that they’ve been advocating as well? And if they do, is there anyone who doesn’t that that at the end of the new process the Democrats won’t wind up with something similar to what they’ve got now, and the Republicans won’t be making the same complaints as they are now?
Buffett is an idiot savant. Look at his personal life....a life long joke.
Makes too much sense for ‘rats to listen to it.
Warren Buffett is a LIAR who supported Obama.
Perfect!
Warren is either demented stupid or crazy.
IF as Buffett says he wants a bill that addresses costs how can he then say he would vote for the senate bill
You can’t pretend to care for costs and then to say you’d vote for the Senate bill
I have wondered that also. I have also wondered why there has been a complete lack of response from the insurance industry.
Old Warren has a lot of fingers into the health insurance industry so maybe he’s worried about how his investments will end up. Then again, maybe he’s beginning to feel some pressure from the shareholders of his various and vast enterprises. Some of them are already taking some strain from the obama economy and he knows that blaming Bush will not wash forever.
Good question on insurance industry
I can see if the insurance industry leaders thought they were going to cash if IF insurance became mandated.
For sure they were promised something by odumbo.
we just don’t know what.
Honestly I do NOT think it that Calif health insurance company sending out notices of up to 39% increases were accidental. I think it was scripted so Dems could point to it and say See?

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:
http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html
This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollees cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.) http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9925/12-18-HealthOptions.pdf

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.
Snip The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.
Snip
Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.
President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees in fiscal 2010, Matz said. We took them at their word, and I cant believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward, he added.
