I don’t get it; you mean the ‘ALL VIETNAM veterans’, as opposed to ‘All Vietnam ERA’ veterans?

The confusion continues. On Dec.16,2009 VVA had a statement up that “current estimate of in country Vietnam War Veterans still alive was less than 850K.” A very close quote I would add. But no one seems to be able to say what survey/study this # is based on. Where did it originate from? Have been looking for several months now, but I do appreciate your efforts.

I can not make my comment any clearer. Here it is again:
"Yeah, I've read the rest of the thread. My gripe is with the use of the word "all" in that statement."
This indicates the statement is referring to, again, all VN Vets. Land, Sea and Air.
I know your main interests are with the Blue Water Navy Vets and how they have been affected, and I am very grateful for your efforts in posting the information you have uncovered. It has raised awareness of the mis-treatment many VN Vets has had to endure by the VA. Personally I have received very good, not excellent - but very good, services from them in Long Beach when I lived in SoCali.
My question is with the sweeping generality used here to indicate that:
"By the end of 2009, only about 30% of all Vietnam War veterans were still alive."
I am troubled by the accuracy of this statement. This seems to be a bit of an over-reaching statement.
