30 yrs ago, as in investigative reporter, I infiltrated an organizing meeting of my state's branch of DSOC (Democrratic Socialist Organizing Committee.)
The head speaker was our state senate majority leader. He took a card out of his pocket and said: "I, like you, am a card carrying socialist. But we are not strong enough, nor will be in time, to come out in the open. We need to infiltrate and take over the democrat party."
They have been successful.
Part of the strategy, once they got in control was:"We must get control of the retirement program monies."
I have advised all my kids to either NOT have 401's, but if they do, cash them in now and take the hit. It will be a lot less than when the gov't takes them over - which they are now ready to do - making them into bonds, as you say, that you can't touch for 20 yrs.
I have more than one son/daughter and law that are losing their jobs at the Space Center...after 29 yrs.
Loss of job, pension, insurance - and if they can't get their hand on their 401's - how do they survive the next 20 yr - indeed, the next year?
the Cocoa Beach area is soon to be plunged into 15-20% unemployment. There will be no jobs to beg, steal or borrow. Real estate already below mortgages. So - loss of homes.
And the NASA money is all to be sent to Muslims in Asia, Africa and Indonesia.
