So began an article published at CNN.com Friday guaranteed to anger conservatives from coast to coast.
The piece continued, "Evolutionary psychologist Satoshi Kanazawa at the the London School of Economics and Political Science correlated data on these behaviors with IQ from a large national U.S. sample and found that, on average, people who identified as liberal and atheist had higher IQs."

Correct. The higher IQs were among “liberals” defined as those who showed more private concern for non-genetically related individuals. This definition is a complete redefinition of liberal. It would also suggest that the researcher’s own ethnicd group, the Japanese would have lower IQs than liberals so defined.
Th entire “study” is palpably absurd..
Many NAZI’s deluded themselves into believing that they were far more intelligent and capable than others, and that everyone not them was “Untermenschen”, or inferior people.
That belief, supported by academic “Studies”, was the justification for atrocities that killed MILLIONS....

Ha, that sounds exactly like my dad’s experience... another ex-Mensan. In spite of that I’ve been considering it just as a way to meet new people. Probably good that you reminded me there are some people you’re better off not meeting.

I prefer to use Left instead of “liberal” since the latter misrepresents the repressive nature of Commies. Conservatives are more liberal regarding freedom and gun rights than the Left.
Furthermore, IQ tests are often not pure as one can better prepare to attain higher score. IQ test results are affected by education and experience. For example, test a scientist using an obscure language.

Same here, since the early 80’s. It surprises me how many of them espouse the liberal agenda, though it seems as though the libertarian and conservative folks greatly outnumber them (at least in the forums).
My wife and I both have JD degrees, and our four children all have college/ grad degrees. None of us have ever knowingly taken an IQ test. If, at some time, we were given one under the guise of some other type of test, we were never informed of the results.
Who takes part in this survey? How can the universe of respondents be representative?
Assuming we have taken such a test, do those results, as opposed to a lifetime of academic and professional achievement, determine our intelligence?
Of course Liberals have higher IQs than conservatives.
After all, liberals want to criminalize free thinking and put conservatives who still speak out in concentration camps - or worse (as they’ve done throughout history), and conservatives simply cannot seem to grasp that, and instead they look at politics as a football game, win some, lose some, but all shake hands in the end.
Bottom line, if you’re not able to understand your enemy, you will be DEFEATED time and time again.

Imagine that. Those CNN folks must all be conservative. They show their brilliance by losing viewership. I wish I could be that intelligent to be able to totally screw up a big old news network.
First of all, they defined liberal as “concern for genetically nonrelated people and support for private resources that help those people.”. That sounds like conservatism, not liberalism.
Secondly, there is no data cited AT ALL. They based their conclusions on a theory ... “Religion, the current theory goes, did not help people survive or reproduce necessarily, but goes along the lines of helping people to be paranoid ...

Thirdly, even if it were true they have higher IQs, they are fools. “The fool says in his heart there is no God.”
Of course, they mean higher IQ’s than “rednecks.” Everyone knows that “indigenous pipples” and Black Pentecostals are all geniuses as well.
