There's as much agriculture as the market allows. Since the cost of planting a crop (fumigation, seed, irrigation, pesticides and labor) it's a risky venture if the market prices decline during the harvest cycle.

For example; green house tomatoes cost me 32 cents/pound to grow and the market was paying 60 cents/lb (net 28 cents). But when the market went to 25 cents/lb, big time loss for every pound produced.

Doesn't matter what the crop is if it's grown for the wholesale market. But if it's a little farmer's market scheme, it's all petty cash in hand (but basically an underground economy) and can be profitable....until you're caught.
