I heard something said on the news that Hawaii only has five days food at a time? Is this true?

It may not be true but it comes from times when the West coast longshoremen call a dock strike as they've done in the past. People here make a run on the stores and stockpile so technically there's a shortage on the shelves. All the unions have to do is hint at a strike to cause a panicky hoarding frenzy over here.

Fishermen and pig hunters (goat and sheep too) reap rewards during those times.
