CNN is reporting NOW about the “mini-tsunami” forecasted to hit Ca and north, average of 2 foot or so.
Anyone hear what happened in The Galápagos, Pitcairn and Easter Islands?
All the more reason to protect our internet access I say, because if its Federalized we would be totally dependant on them, as they want us to be.
The sirens just woke me up. Us oldtimers know exactly what they mean. I wondered about that Child earthquake when I went to bed last night. Fortunately, it’s not a weekday and everyone should have time to evacuate. I live up above Honolulu, so I’m fine. Tourists and assorted stupid people - stay away from the beach!!!! All will be well.
I’m watching Honolulu tv and they keep saying “Don’t panic”. However, If you didn’t hear what happened last night and you had NO idea what is going on....and the FIRST thing you hear of this is a siren going off at 6am when it’s dark outside...what do YOU think is gonna happen???
Yep...people are going to PANIC.
Not sure, but I’m not believing most info right now, some said the waves were minimal...BUT if it was catastrophic we will be in the dark for awhile news wise.
What is the update for the Oregon (PNW) Coast?
Confusing as it read the waves are going to hit Crescant City then in the next para No tsunami for Cali/Oregon on up?
WTHey?
Nothing on our Oregon Coast Emerg radio.
As I posted last night we are doing the shuttle bus for the Seafood Fest and will be in the tsunami zone all day.
Looking out at the bay/ocean on a sunny day here on the Oregon Coast it is smooth as glass out there right now...very peacefull.
Please stay with us and keep us posted with updates, if you can.
Probably there will be tourists on the beach no doubt, heck I’m in frigid Alaska and I want to be on the beach!
take care
Paging Mr. Tubebender.
Tsunami possible alert.
Please excuse this bump as it is not a normal former MI bump.
Jack aka Big Look lives in Hawaii and leaving for high ground: Thanks Dave, packing a few things now, evacuation begins around 0600. Got a lot of conflicting reports on wave size but the evac is a go.
haiti, japan, chile....
Reads like a chipotle spicy fish entree. (and we’re the fish) ;^(
I was thinking about the thousands here on the Oregon Coast here to party at our yearly Seafood and Wine Fest.
It is to dang cold for anyone to go down and pass out on the beach...so no worries of extra big sneaker waves dragging them out to sea.
We had allot of riders last night on our shuttle who thought it would be great to walk just 3-4 blocks after the event and wanted to be picked up due to the cold.
Stay safe Island Freepers.
Argentina has just had a 6+ quake, could be an even NEW tsunami forecast.
Is there any news about when/if it will hit New Zealand?

Sorry, I meant “here” being where they were talking about. I’m in GA. Twins and ex dil are in Ewa Beach, on Oahu.
She’s military, so surely she’s warned, prepared, ready. I’m counting the minutes until I can call her. I’m trying to wait until 7 her time. 34 more minutes.
Prayers for all.
