After the main quake here in Santiago, the aftershocks were nothing.
Heard on the radio shortly after that it was an 8.5, and couldn’t believe it considering that where I live, in the financial district (think Manhattan), there was very little damage to be seen.
In Santiago, most of the damage was cosmetic, although there have been buildings that didn’t hold up as they should have.
Things are looking much worse in the south, and they’re still working on basic communication, food and water.
Plan on going to work tomorrow, as things seem pretty normal for the most part here in Santiago.
