To: eater-of-toast
Article I Section 5 of the US Constitution states: “Each House shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members[.]”

I've always thought that this might be a weakness in the Constitution, that if there were an sufficiently ruthless evil bunch in power with enough gall to deny, and ignore the results of elections adverse to them...they could hang on forever refusing to recognize being 'dis-elected' and never seating their replacements.

I would not put it past this current bunch:
