When Alexander suggested renouncing reconciliation, Obama physically pulled back and shifted in his chair.

Obama wants to facilitate a concensus. He’s taking notes and I expect he’ll feed to the speakers what he heard, not necessarily what the speakers have said. Wouldn’t be surprised to see big white sheets of paper with his notes.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see this group broken into smaller working groups. IMO, this is community organizer-in-chief using the Delphi technique/Alinsky method.

Freeper “mnehring” posted a great explanation of the Delphi technique at post #4 here http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2200642/posts. (Don’t go to source site; he’s posted verbatim what’s there.

Then continue at post #8 from Freeper “Jenny Hatch.”

Margaret Thatcher in a 1981 speech:

“For me, pragmatism is not enough. Nor is that fashionable word “consensus.” . . .

To me consensus seems to be the process of abandoning all beliefs, principles, values and policies in search of something in which no one believes, but to which no one objects—the process of avoiding the very issues that have to be solved, merely because you cannot get agreement on the way ahead. What great cause would have been fought and won under the banner “I stand for consensus”?”

PS This has taken a while to write. Obama is talking again and I note that he did not renounce reconciliation.

Thank you for taking the time to write your comments.

I'll ping and link. I think we all noticed him taking notes and he is definitely on the defense now about reconcilation and Lamar wants time to refute what he's saying.
