The trap = “WE ARE ALL IN AGREEMENT HERE”
Someone please say: “WE ARE NOT IN AGREEMENT HERE IN ANY WAY - WE ARE MOUNTAINTOPS AWAY FROM ANY AGREEMENT” - You want the government to take over - we want the free market to cure the disease.
While I agree that this is the mantra you'll likely hear the most, it's actually a very valid way to begin negotiations -- find the common ground first.
Except, of course, that this really isn't a true negotiation: it's a means for the Dems to say that it's a bi-partisan process before they slam through their bill.
