(WXYZ) - The FBI is confirming raids at the offices of three Michigan auto suppliers who do work for Toyota.
Search warrants were served Tuesday evening at Yazaki North America, DENSO International and Tokai Rika. Yazaki sells electronic components and DENSO makes accelerator pedals.
Denso has released the following statement about the situation "DENSO International America, Inc. (DIAM), U.S. subsidiary of DENSO Corporation, was inspected on February 23, 2010 by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Department of Justice in regard to U.S. antitrust laws. DIAM is cooperating with this investigation."

>Obama is Stalin without the murders.
...yet.
[fixed]
There may have been a few gas pedals that got stuck in the floor mat, but I would bet that nearly all these crashes were caused by driver error.
This is Obama sabatoge! Look out Honda, Nissan, you’re next.
I doubt it. It’s just a media frenzy. The same thing happened to Audi back in the 80s when Audi was no significant threat to GM, Ford, or the UAW.

I hope Japan does something to expose Zero
Correct. That is PRECISELY what is going on.....and all on behalf of the f**king unions.
Over the last 20 years or so the management had decided to keep dividends to the owners UP and investments in plant and tools DOWN.
They found a magic car called the SUV where they could make piles of money. Their attention to their other lines wandered.
In effect, GM was LOOTED by its management.
At the same time the UAW (the Union) had made a deal with GM to take over management of the health benefit program and all GM had to do was pay them $25 billion.
Well, surprise, surprise, GM didn't have the $25 billion to pay, and it was time to 'fess up!
Ordinarily a company would have been busted down to its jockey shorts and had its assets sold on the open market. The employees would be paid. Postage accounts balanced and paid and closed. Taxes paid. Bondholders paid. And so on according to law.
All things considered I think a sale of the assets would have ended up yielding barely enough money to pay the employees (and that would include payments to retirement funds held in trust, and quite possibly to the health care fund).
Even the post office would be cut out of the picture ~ because this was going to be a very bad bankruptcy.
Now that the Chinese deal for the Hummer has fallen through, it's possible the enabling legislation was not really sufficient to keep the company in money, and this successor organization is going to go bankrupt as well ~ probably in weeks.
Only a bunch of doufous downtown Chicago Democrats with Cadillacs on their minds would think it of great public benefit to bail out a looted company like GM.
“Driver error” sounds so NTSB ~ that’s why I think more of the problem arose out of a problem at the parts manufacturer than the customers.
Remember to buy ammo for that gun... lots of it.
>I dont see the humor in the key words, is it missing? /S
You can add it if you like; however , some people will not see that as humorous.

This is the work of a OUTRIGHT COMMUNIST!
None of this had to happen, had only Toyota been unionized and owned by blacks.
So I would find it comically ironic if what is being said were true. They are selling cars in Iran, their profits and taxes there of leave the country and they arent good for America. So as far as Im concerned I hope they drive them into the sea. Now we find o0ut their glorious quality ratings have been fudged. Good for us if we are pushing them out.
It wont happen though, heck their stock is still going up. If this were Ford their stock would be at 10 cents right now.

Reading this reminds me of how these message boards work. They are typically all to one side or the other with a few reasonable types in the middle. I dont know what you guys want here. Yeah Obama is scary. Yea the Democratic Party blows, but in my opinion they all suck. Im about to the point I dont like either party and this is what I expect to happen as the world approaches Biblical prophecy.
As for Toyota, they lambasted Ford over the Firestone deal and Toyota was being way shadier than Ford. This isnt made up stuff here fellas. Toyota is reaping what they sowed no matter what conspiracy you want to prop up.

So you are saying this stuff is made up? The stuff I’ve been hearing about for 2 years. The suppression of evidence, the quality issues, the cover-up it was all made up. If so why was Toyota answering questions today on the hill. Watched it, they were squirming in their sits an awful lot for guys who did nothing wrong?!?!?
I never tire of humanities ability to rationalize away that which they believe or dont believe in. Most Toyota buyers are like this. The problem is they are now losing some of them and it was time. I really dont care what the government does to them. They had different rules for years, now they dont
I also have had lots of domestic cars and I too have never had a problem. Not sure that says anything more than we all made good and bad cars and Toyotas reputation was not deserved. It was over inflated by an amazing PR machine that got caught with their hand in the cookie jar and fell of the edge.
Chad
that’s your decision and your right of course, but that doesnt change the fact that Toyota falsified quality reports and did some stupid stuff that American car companies have been unfairly lambasted for in the past. What goes around comes around.
