February 23, 2010 Rush Limbaugh Knocks Glenn Beck; Criticized for "Reparations" Comment
Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh is criticizing Fox News host Glenn Beck over Beck's criticisms of the Republican Party at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday.
At that event, Beck said he has "not heard the people in the Republican Party yet admit they have a problem" and said that he doesn't "know what they stand for."
Glenn Beck: GOP Needs to Admit it Has a Problem
"I would not have said that the only people who can stop Obama, Republicans, should be excoriated for being just as bad," Limbaugh said on his radio show (watch at left, via Mediaite). "I don't know how you can say that the Republicans are just as bad as the Democrats. It would never occur to me to say that. I don't know what the objective would be."
The incident is the latest demonstration of Beck's unique position in the political landscape. A hero in the Tea Party movement, he's not shy about criticizing Republicans.
But he has also shown a willingness to break with right-wing orthodoxy, as evidenced by a new interview in which he says he believes global warming is real and thinks a legitimate case can be made that it's been caused by mankind.
Beck even goes so far as to question the connection between the GOP and perhaps its most admired member, telling USA Weekend that "I don't think [Ronald] Reagan was a real Republican."
Back to Limbaugh: The conservative flamethrower is once again angering liberals, this time for casting the health care reform effort as "a civil rights bill" that amounts to "reparations."

How do administer it without the insurance companies? Not sure I have that answer.
I agree with you and I heard someone else say that not long ago. It may have been John Stossel or Newt Gingrich I just can’t remember. The account that I mentioned before would or could be used for the ordinary health care costs.
It definately was not my original thought. I likely heard it the same place you did. But don’t tell anyone. Would not want anyone to know I was quoting someone else.
I believe what Beck's official position on AGW is that "maybe" there is such a thing but the evidence that AlGore and company present as fact is a bunch of hooey!
IOW his position is far from backing the madness that is AlGore's cause!
Anyone who believes this article doesn’t listen to Rush. This is a hit piece, designed to do what it is doing on this thread in regards to some FReepers: Divide us.
The same way we did when I was young, before Medicare changed the whole equation. You buy insurance for the catastrophic illnesses, which usually, but not always, only strike as we get older.
Insurance should not cover office visits, tests, ordinary illness. It should only cover things that require hospitalization.
When I was a boy, docs made house calls, you paid for your medical out of pocket for the most part.
My mother(our dad had left us cold when I was 3)worked at a Water Paints factory, I had to have my tonsils out at 4(I know, they don't do that anymore, but they did it back in the day)and my mom paid for that surgery out of her wages, a little at a time but she still was able to pay it.
I believe at the time she was making about $1.25 per hour.
Medicare changed all that by ramming medical costs through the roof. Insurance caused our problems, it isn't the solution, it is the problem.
Every once in a while a really good post comes along on FR. Thanks for yours. That definately has me clear on the question I asked.
LOL It’s just between you and me.
