Hanson mentions “the Republican culture of corruption in the 2004-6 Congress.” I don't remember the Republicans being more corrupt than the Democrats. If anything, the media bias exaggerated the Republican “corruption.” Am I wrong?

I think you are absolutely correct - Republicans in Congress were not as corrupt as the Democrats routinely are. It's just that Caesar's wife, and a Republican politician, have to be above suspicion because their sins will be publicized and exaggerated, not covered up.
