When you explicitly exclude gays, or go on the basis of ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’, you embark necessarily on witchhunts and hypocrisy and contradictions on your own concepts of personal freedom.

And the pro choicers?, the Polygamists? the illegals? Are they all part of our "let it all hang out" style of liberated conservatism and newer, non traditional, traditional Americanism?

Absolutely not. And you don’t have to engage in a witchhunt to exclude openly expressed views, as opposed to promoting active suppression of personal lifestyle choices.
