For cripe sake...he said he was an Independent.
Why in hell do people on FR throw a fit every time an Independent turns out not to be a hardcore conservative in everything they say and do?
Bizzare, isn’t it? ha.
Because said people are politically unrealistic in the extreme.
Let him change his party affiliation to Independent like Lieberman did. If you vote for a Rat bill that Republicans weren't allowed to offer amendments to, then you are a Rat.
Funny...I don’t seem to recall him having an (I) next to his name on the ballot. But then again, he didn’t mention being a Republican once in his acceptance speech.
Snakes gotta bite, scorpions gotta sting, and "principled conservatives" gotta whine!
It's their nature.
Agree 100%.
Voting for the Jobs bill is not the same as voting for the Healthcare bill.
People need help. (I was for UI benefits extension even before I was laid off)
This vote by Brown actually solidifies his opposition to BOcare - same with Snowe and Collins as well. Proves their reasonability on a whole range of issues.
It gets the MSM off the meme that DC is broken.
Therefore makes opposition to BOcare easier for moderates.
And this so-called jobs bill still has to go to conference.
The key item that Brown promised was to filibuster on BOcare and he will remain solid on that issue.
BO’s roll-out today was a disaster. Nothing has changed.
Excellent question. The guy is an immeasurable improvement over Ted Kennedy. People act like Brown has somehow kept Pat Buchanan from his rightful place in the Senate. It's ridiculous.
Brown is up for reelection in less than 24 months. If he can't point to some "bi-partisan" votes in the Senate, he's toast. Then, we'll be stuck with a conventional orthodox liberal from Massachusetts. Of course, I'm sure many here will be glad to be rid of the "RINO".
that’s not fair. He wasn’t vague about the spending thing. He said he would vote no on spending. This was totally unexpected, and rightfully so.
Some do but many as you know don't. Many here see thru the Crists the Schwengiggers types. ONLY if the people continue an outgoing effort in a very heavy way, we will we not have a health care bill.
Good question.
Because most people here are rigid ideologues.
Because they are clueless on how the real world works. In the not too distant future, those who are condemning him here will be singing him praises for voting with the "good guys".
I hear ya’. These people live in a bubble filled with knee-jerk reactionaries. They’re their own worst enemy.
Certain FReepers feel their own views should be followed 100% by everyone ... and if not ... they are not real conservatives. Fortunately for the rest of us, they have no more say/power or influence than the rest ...
FreeRepublic is just like any other public forum, half the posters are unintelligent politically deaf ding-bats, and the other half are great people with plenty of intelligence, class and information.
Being as your an original member of FR ... You know what Im talking about 100%.
And how dare he think of his constituents before his allegiance to a national political party?
