Ryan Sorba, from the Young Americans for Freedom organizations California chapter, was booed off the stage tonight at CPAC, for deriding CPACs choice to have GOProud attend CPAC, even going so far as to say he condemns CPAC. Not the sort of thing one would say when invited to speak at the biggest gathering of Conservatives who look to CPAC for guidance and networking.

I don’t understand..if they’re doing that in their own home..oppose gay marriage and stand for all the other platforms, you don’t think they should be “allowed” in our party? Are you kidding me?
wait a seond..is Homosexuality against the law? What nambla talks about is against the law...polygamy is against the law. Are you saying you think homosexuality should be against the law?
Other than this thread, Ive not paid too much attention to CPAC. Its a shame. I used to enjoy going but I noticed a charge about 5 years ago and havent been back. The events and sponsors this year confirm my worst suspicions.
That is too bad. For instance, I objected to FUDGEPAC's presence and Cheney's prominence, but then again I didn't check out the entire dog and pony show. What trends seemed disturbing to you?
It seems the wheels clearly fell off for CPAC when these cheerleading ostriches dismissed the the biggest problem in the last 10 years - the border enforcement/illegal invasion problem. Now we're eating this mess whole while they still ignore it; Amazing, ain't it?
Nothing.
What’s wrong with you? BTW, they aren’t “gay”, they’re homosexuals. “Gay” means someone who is carefree and happy. Homosexuals are not carefree and happy.
What’s your problem?
Amen to that and God bless Ryan Sorba for voicing the sentiments of his convictions in a public venue. We need more true conservatives to do the same. Homosexuality is a practice condemned by God Himself.
Well done. In a nutshell THAT is what this issue and discourse is about.
CPAC and the GOP can gift wrap this garbage anyway they want, but it still can't be fumigated.
So you do accept the homosexual lifestyle.
Good for you.
Thank you for admitting you would not do anything to them and accept them for who they are as individuals - not as a group.
Have a gay time tonight with your friends.
Is that before or after they demand my 6 year old learn about sodomy in public school? OR before or after I'm locked up for a "Hate Speech" after calling a sodomite an "f'n fruitcake"?
lj, your post was so good I'm repeating it -- in a large font -- so it is easier to see!
And, yes, I totally agree with your POV.
The Right to Life is NOW codified at the state level constitutionally...with MURDER covered under state statutes in all cases excepting the murders that occur on Federal property. Only in the case of abortion is the life issue nationalized...and this occurred in the 1970s. Until then, abortion was ALWAYS UNDER STATE LAW.
Look, I'm not trying to talk anyone into, or out of, any position. I'm observing the political landscape and offering an opinion on a course that I believe best serves both social and economic conservatives. I don't believe any compromises have to be made by either side if one takes a long-term view. A CONSTITUTIONAL view.
There are some times the emotions just run away with everyone. This is one of those times. I am appalled at the anger at Freepers who just want to discuss the issue and what it means politically, they are not Pro Gay Militanism and calling them names or impuning false motives to them doesn’t help.
I sure think that Jim can handle this himself. Are you now in charge?
By “They” you seem to imply that they are all the same.
That is painting with a broad brush.
So if you had total power in the US what would you do with all the gay folks?
Come on, don’t be shy. What law would you pass?
onyx just posted this on the other thread about CPAC, I can’t format it nicely the way she did, though.

Legislative Priorities
GOProud’s Conservative Agenda
The so-called “gay agenda” is defined by the left through a narrow prism of legislative goals. While hate crimes and employment protections may be worthy goals, there are many other important priorities that receive little attention from the gay community. GOProud’s agenda emphasizes conservative and libertarian principles that will improve the daily lives of all Americans, but especially gay and lesbian Americans.
1 - TAX REFORM - Death tax repeal; domestic partner tax equity, and other changes to the tax code that will provide equity for gays and lesbians; cut in the capital gains and corporate tax rates to jump start our economy and create jobs; a fairer, flatter and substantially simpler tax code.
2 - HEALTHCARE REFORM - Free market healthcare reform. Legislation that will allow for the purchase of insurance across state lines - expanding access to domestic partner benefits; emphasizing individual ownership of healthcare insurance - such a shift would prevent discriminatory practices by an employer or the government.
3 - SOCIAL SECURITY REFORM - Bringing basic fairness to the Social Security system through the creation of inheritable personal savings accounts.
4 - DON’T ASK, DON’T TELL REPEAL - Repeal of the military’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy.
5 - HOLDING THE LINE ON SPENDING - Standing up for all tax payers against wasteful and unneccessary spending to protect future generations from the mounting federal debt.
6 - FIGHTING GLOBAL EXTREMISTS - Standing strong against radical regimes who seek to criminalize gays and lesbians.
7 - DEFENDING OUR CONSTITUTION - Opposing any anti-gay federal marriage amendment.
8 - ENCOURAGING COMMUNITY ENTREPRENEURSHIP - Package of free market reforms to encourage and support small businesses and entrepreneurship in the gay community.
9 - REVITALIZING OUR COMMUNITIES - A package of urban related reforms; expanding historic tax preservation credits; support for school choice.
10 - DEFENDING OUR COMMUNITY - Protecting 2nd amendment rights.
For all the condemnation about what is being posted on the this site and all the zotting..there sure is no condemnation or zotting of crude / disgusting comments...of course the immediate response is “well, that is what they do!”....Uh, these crude comments make this more of a porno site.
“Any questions now as to why Sarah Palin told CPAC thanks but NO thanks?”
Looks like Palin has pretty good political instincts.
Good luck staying on the site...ha.
having that said that, I agree with you...”The perfect is the enemy of the good.”
