Ryan Sorba, from the Young Americans for Freedom organizations California chapter, was booed off the stage tonight at CPAC, for deriding CPACs choice to have GOProud attend CPAC, even going so far as to say he condemns CPAC. Not the sort of thing one would say when invited to speak at the biggest gathering of Conservatives who look to CPAC for guidance and networking.

Man stood up for what he believed in. I agree with him. He’s big enough to handle the consequences. CPAC should not be catering at all to the homosexual agenda. It’s an oxymoronic philosophical situation in terms of culture degradation, destructive lifestyles, from a medical and fiscal cost standpoint, and from a tyranny-of-the-minority standpoint.

I don’t welcome homosexual groups with open arms.
I also don’t reject the vote of a homosexual.
I wouldn’t vote against a candidate because they were divorced. But I wouldn’t want a pro-divorce group to sponsor a conservative event.
There are a lot of different arguments going on in this thread at the same time. My argument is against those who want to personally demonize individuals who are homosexual, and make the message that we reject things like gay marriage because we hate homosexuals.
I don’t hate homosexuals. I hate homosexuality. But I reject gay marriage because it is bad for society, not because i want to punish gay people.

They also support same sex marriage, not a conservative postion.

Conservatism stands for the rule of law (constitutionalism), fiscal responsibility, strong national defence, AND traditional values because all of these things are interrelated. Interrelated yes, but not mutually causative. I'm a conservative because I want to conserve the fundamental natural or negative rights structure of the Constitution - that's it. I believe the Founders well knew of the dangers of going beyond that in specificity, which is why at first they didn't even bother with a Bill of Rights. Fiscal irresponsibility, weak national defense, and the sabotage of traditional values - and more - ALL depend on first defeating natural rights, in order to wield the government as a weapon against the sane expression of these things. Without that fundamental weapon, what doesn't work in life dies out soon, small and naturally, instead of becoming a bloated nightmare run by vicious, violent, lying, hypocritical and ultimately murderous maniacs.

Poltiically, we arent going to be a majority party if our platform is about emasculating homosexuals. It may appeal to some of our supporters, but todays conservatives are not going to win if our message is to use government to enforce morality to that degree. You have totally missed the point. The battle is far far from what you are stating. There is a bill in the House that would let Kevin Jennings MANDATE teaching gay sex to elementary school students.
Nobody is trying to push morality on gays, its the GAYS pushing their immorality down the throat of SCHOOLKIDS!!
So if we don't let them teach our kids to enjoy sodomy, then we're emasculating gays?
Your talking about battles from 1980. Conservatives are playing DEFENSE and we're on our own 5 yard line.

If conservative gays push things I am opposed to such as Nambla, gay marriage, etc., then I will push back. But until such, I will fight for their right to do what they want in private.
Well then, I must have misunderstood your original point, because when someone said that Reagan would never have tolerated the GOProud type stuff in the Republican Party, you seemed to imply that, because he had gay friends, indeed he would have tolerated it. The main problem with the GOProud people is that they are NOT being gay in private. Instead, they are doing some in-your-face activism right in the heart of political conservatism.

I saw the video and it seemed that a majority were booing the BIGOT
Are you gay or just a liberal or maybe a libertine?
I only ask because you are using their distorted language.
To: Perdogg
Its the gays who are witch hunting. Conservatives are playing defense.

Yes he would have.
God does not tolerate sin, and Homosexuality isn't just a sin, it is an abomination according to him.
Those that would tolerate this behavior and lifestyle choice and then call themselves Christians apparently don't know their bible.

So CPAC is really not conservative. Such a reaction foretells a trajectory heading south-left
Therefore Sarah was absolutely right to avoid them!

Similar to the assertion that all Republicans are bigots and racists, assuming that ALL gays are pushing an agenda is a stereotype and not necessarily based in reality.
So do you think that those who dare open their mouth against homosexuality in this fashion are bigots?
To: GeronL
Some Homosexuals (notably Tammy Bruce) started to look at the GOP after 9-11 because they realize they will be one of the first victim of islamofascism.
Some of them have done this knowing that the majority of the party are oppose to gay marriage.
I welcome anybody who is in favor of personal liberities, free markets, and limited govt.

As do bosses who sleep with their secretaries.
No, my friend, there is a difference between sin and perversion and also sin and abomination.
Adultery is just a plain old sin.
An abomination is a sin that is worse than most other sins and God calls this perversion an abomination

I do too, but only if they keep it to themselves.
If they feel the need to promote their perversion, they need to go elsewhere.
