See Girlene’s post above regarding the Indiana deadline of Feb. 16 is for a “major party candidate for US Senate”?

Not unlike him to pull a Lieberman, and then caucus with the democrats, but that would stink, given today’s announcement.

According to The Fix blog, Evan Bayh to retire

........"Because petitions are due tomorrow, no Democrat will formally file -- leaving the seat vacant and allowing the state party apparatus to choose the candidate.".............
