As much as I like Cheney, I still trust my own gut feeling and analysis more than his take on Palin.

If Cheney were to come out against her, I would completely discount his opinion.

The glaring fact is nobody has ever produced a substantive, policy-level criticism of Palin in the context of her readiness to be president.

Unless he could offer a new idea that hadn’t been put out there yet.

“As much as I like Cheney, I still trust my own gut feeling and analysis more than his take on Palin.”

You are wise to do so - trust your own gut that is. I decided to move on and leave Cheney to the past when he endorsed KBH for Governor of Texas. And, let’s not forget that he has a daughter who has political asperations. So, when Cheney speaks, it would be prudent for all of us to keep in mind that he is pushing his own personal agenda which may or may not be aligned with yours - or mine.

You should. Cheney is a good man but he's a creature of the Gerald Ford/Bush Family branch of the GOP. His support of Kay Bailout Hutchison is another clue.

He's a Washingtonian, simple as that. Love his Western toughness, though.

If Cheney were to come out against her, he would back up his opinion with solid reasoning. I'd most definately consider his opinion before making my own decision.

Well, he didn't come out against her. He is just non-committal at this point because no one knows what's going to happen in two years.

You people have to be more aware of the headline-grabbing media ploy to 1). put Sarah Palin's name in a headline 2). make anybody's comment about her seem like a slam.

The MSM is in dire straits and they've figured out that nothing gets them web clicks like stories involving Gov. Palin.

“If Cheney were to come out against her, I would completely discount his opinion.”

So even if his reasoning was sound, you would reject it completely because to you it is heresy?
