Gun rights advocates have a California police detective in their crosshairs after he apparently posted comments on Facebook advocating that "open carry" supporters should be shot.
East Palo Alto Police Det. Rod Tuason apparently posted the remarks on his Facebook page in response to a friend's status update, which suggested that gun advocates who carry unloaded weapons openly which is legal in California should do so in places like "Oakland, Richmond and East Palo Alto" and not just in "hoity toity" cities.
"Haha we had one guy last week try to do it!" Tuason replied. "He got proned out [laid face-down on the ground] and reminded where he was at and that turds will jack him for his gun in a heartbeat!"
Several comments later, the detective suggested shooting the gun rights advocates, some of whom have carried firearms openly in recent weeks in California's Bay Area, particularly at Starbucks locations.

I know this was already posted, but this is from a more mainstream source and figured it deserved more attention.
Personally, I think open carry in a state that doesn't allow the weapon to be loaded is asking to get robbed by a criminal.
It is almost as stupid as cops that have facebook pages. He is asking to get targeted by the criminals he is supposed to be putting away.
What good is openly carrying an unloaded weapon ?
Thats like asking someone to take it away from you.
What are you going to do, ?Beat someone over the head with it?
Do you get to carry one bullet in your pocket like Barney Fife?
Agree on both points. Why, in California, is it legal to open carry - but only if the weapon is unloaded?
Defending your constitutional rights has always involved some risk. It appears that you are far more at risk from the police than from criminals when you carry openly. I have carried openly (and concealed as well) for many years. I have been stopped by police a few times, but never has anyone tried to rob me.
The vast majority of criminals see someone with a gun, and don’t want any part of them. Very few police officers (who carry openly) are robbed.
I’m always tempted to don my ruck sack and go on a nice long road march down the highway...with my loaded AR15 in my hands and a loaded sidearm plainly visible. The road I want to do this on is crawling with state troopers. I want to see what they do about a citizen legally exercizing his legal right to carry openly. I suspect they will have some questions.
because it makes it easier for the criminal to get weapons that way.
He should always assume those guns are loaded.
If he ever visits Virginia he best be on his toes ~ those guns actually ARE loaded!
Simple, California left wing politicians...just on of the many reasons I left after 40 years.
Sad too, California was once a Great State and place to live.
That was my first thought, too. But are you allowed to carry a magazine in your pocket? Would take much time to draw and slap it in...
It’s an interesting question. A law-abiding citizen will be carrying an unloaded weapon. Thugs usually travel in packs, and on that point the officer is correct - if they know the weapon is unloaded, they will have an easy gun. It’s generally pretty easy to take something from an unarmed person if you outnumber them four or five to one.
That said, what happens when they guess wrong? What if the guy figures the California law is unconstitutional and decides he has the right to carry a loaded weapon? Is the average criminal willing to take that chance?
this prick needs a gang raping in the prison day room.../joke ?...
I’ve been reading alot about this and found some interesting things posted about the East Palo Alto department. Let’s just say they don’t have the highest standards for hiring.
Indeed. I have a friend who has a cabin in Washington, Ca where bear and sometimes cats frequent his property, consequently he Carry's a 38 in his back pocket, better something than nothing.
He drives up the hill to the grocery store in Grass Valley and does his shopping with the gun in his back pocket, absent minded, forgetting it was there. (I know, not the brightest thing) Some one sees the handle popping out of the top of his pocket and alerts the store manager....to make a long story short, he is now facing carrying a loaded weapon in an unauthorized area, a misdemeanor but still ridiculous.
Carry’s = carries....yikes!
The goal is to over turn the idiotic Lefty gun hating laws. Gotta get the public educated first.
Simple it is Kalafornia!
Only in Kalifornia. The right to open carry an UNLOADED weapon! Of course, Kalifornia demands that a homeowner run away rather than defend his home/family from a thug who breaks in!
What everybody needs to take from this story is that this cop is the real face of much of the law enforcement community. Not all but a significant group of them are a bunch of neo-Nazi goose stepping trash. They are not here to serve and protect. They are here to enforce and intimidate. They are here to make dam sure you working class white people shut up, sit down, do as you are told and keep the taxes coming.
