WASHINGTON A Democratic official says Rep. Patrick Kennedy has decided not to seek re-election for his seat representing Rhode Island in the U.S. Congress.
...
The decision by the eight-term congressman comes less than a month after a stunning Republican upset in the race for the Massachusetts Senate seat his late father, Edward Kennedy, held for almost half a century.

Oh, I doubt he nurses further political ambitions if he thinks he can no longer get re-elected to his current seat. By 2012 he will be forgotten by all (unless he keeps making headlines for being drunk-and-disorderly).
The Kennedys are so over.

Very nice. From the 1928 version of The Missing Chums, a classic written by the late Canadian author Leslie McFarlane under the Stratemayer house name of Franklin W. Dixon.

I think most of the pubs are advancing their careers and running for senate or governor.

Soros is going to be writing checks like mad this year!
Too many seats to defend. Of course, I doubt this seat would ever be seriously contested.

Probably moving back to MA to win back his Dads seat in 2012. He was facing a tough re-election for his current seat so I doubt he has his eye on the Senate.

Time to party.I strongly suspect Patrick is back on the booze, pills, cocaine, whatever. He's a junkie. With Ted dead, there's nobody left for Patrick to worry about disappointing again. I'm sure it's been pilled-up party time for Patrick since the funeral.
No doubt Patrick is sick and tired of yo-yo-ing back and forth to faux "rehab" so he can once more proclaim his "sobriety" and give the hopeless, ignorant suckers in his district the lame excuse they need to vote for him again. Buh-bye, Patrick. Try not to OD.

He won’t run because the polls must be telling him he would lose “big time.”
From February 5th (WRNI): Thirty-five percent of respondents view Congressman Patrick Kennedy positively, while 62 percent see him negatively.
So rather than try to ahem...REHABilitate his image, Patches runs home to the Compound to live on his trust fund. No more playing Congressman!
