The problem is that the Republican party is infested with liberals. They did not use to be this way, but they are today.
Bush was no conservative despite what the slugs in the Main stream Media tried to convince us. Compared to Obama (Communist/Socialist) yes, but so is just about anyone.
Of course the Republican party has too many liberals, but we, as Tea Party members and conservative Republicans are shaking things up.
George W. Bush was a strong President who did many conservative things. The fact that he did some things that were not purely conservative is not a reflection on his character, nor whether or not we should respect him, but rather on his own political bent.
I don't judge character on politics, Sprite. There are higher priorities than my own conservative political view.
So I will not abandon Sarah Palin because she endorsed McCain, even though I didn't agree with her, and should some "perfect" conservative become President and make some not-so-conservative decisions (as they ALL do), I will not get on a conservative board and throw mud.
It's not the right thing to do, and I won't do it. You obviously are comfortable with doing that. I'm not.
