DeMint’s Special Delivery: Campaign Cash
CQ ^ | Feb. 8, 2010 | John McArdle

On Wednesday, Sen. Jim DeMint ’s Senate Conservatives Fund will be a major contributor to a “money bomb” fundraiser for the GOP Senate campaign of former Florida Speaker Marco Rubio with a goal of raising $200,000 in 24 hours.

The South Carolina Republican had already gathered $115,000 in pledged donations for Rubio as of Monday and it probably would be unwise to bet against him reaching his goal.

After raising just over $300,000 during the 2008 cycle, DeMint reported over $1.3 million in receipts for the Senate Conservative Fund in 2009.

What those reports don’t show is that the political action committee also earned something more valuable over the course of last year; a brand name that is now solid gold in conservative circles.

Demint has endorsed:
Rubio
Toomey
Devore

If 2 out of 3 win he’ll be the next majority leader or should be a strong contender for 2012

SCF endorses Michael Williams of Texas. This will be one to watch outside of DeVore who did a masterful job on Beck’s show last night. Beck was so impressed that he gave DeVore his jar of M&M’s.

Looks like Rubio has his machine rolling now and just needs to keep the momentum fed as does Toomey.

Once JD formally announces, I hope DeMint will endorse him as well because DeMint has been an ongoing unnamed target of the McCain bunch.

Did DeMint/SCF contribute to Scott Brown?

It wasn’t on the site. Not usre if Scott is conservative enough for Jim, especially since Brown is endorsing McCain.

In 2004, the GOP and rat Senate candidates spent $22 million for the last FL seat.
