I'm so sorry to hear about your wife, camle. I'll remember her in my prayers.
I had 3 surgeries (2 major, one minor) between Nov 2008 and June 2009 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. I can't give enough praise to everyone I came in contact with there... doctors, nurses, all medical professionals. Even the secretaries who checked me into the various departments were top-notch. Yale-New Haven is the finest hospital in Connecticut, IMO... one of the best in the country.
thank you, Nutmeg, for your kind words. a class 1 diabetic, she was always behind the eight ball - health wise. but we managed to put together ten years of teh best life a guy could want.
last march she had back-to-back heart attacks, that left her brain damaged, unable to be left alone. We coped with her agonizingly slow recovery - she could at least dress herself most days - until new years when she fell down the stairwell.
bleeding on the brain managed to get her shipped to Yale, where her condition gradually deteriorated until she is on the verge of systematic shutdown.
Her injuries were not that severe, but she kept getting infections, etc., and they had to put her under. she’s been out of it for three weeks now and growing weaker by the day.
(sigh!)
