For me, the most interesting piece of this game will be how will the Colts deal with the relentless blitz of the Saints? Will they cross them up with misdirection running plays, draws and screens, or just run a west coast-type passing offense?

Or, will the Saints run a lot of fake blitzes and lay back in zone coverage?

the Saints need to try to stay a step ahead of manning. Once he figures out what they are doing on defense, he will make his necessary adjustments. At that point, the Saints need to change their tendencies so he doesnt get in a comfort zone.

If they stay in the same scheme, he’ll start picking them apart.

IMO...The saints will blitz somewhat less than they usually do.

That'd be my guess. The Jets showed what happens when you try to blitz Manning...it can work for a while but once he breaks down what the defense is doing then good night.

If the Vikings could pile up nearly 500 yards against that blitzing defense, on the Saints home field, I have complete confidence Peyton Manning will have little problem moving the ball up and down the field today.

That being said, here is my final analysis on today’s event, then again with my sterling 2-8 record against the spread in this year’s playoffs who would wanna listen? First and foremost, the officiating in this years playoffs have been absolutely brutal, especially in terms of the QB’s. What you will see today is a concerted effort to protect the QB’s on both sides.....

The Dwight Freeney injury is a concern, but was so 2 weeks ago when the Jets put up 17 points in the first half and then got shut down in the 2nd half. Obviously the Saints offense is miles ahead of the Jets and will have mulitple opportunities to score....
If the Saints d wants to try to beat Peyton up like they did Farve, good luck. After the first 3 penalties for RTP, that stops then and there. If they want to blitz, they’re being set up for the expected aerial show cause everyone knows PM will not get sacked or hurried regularily. One other thing you won’t see, the Saints getting extra possessions from turnovers like the Vikings gave them 2 weeks ago. The Colts just don’t turn the ball over, PERIOD!!!
Like I said 2 weeks ago, I was never convinced that Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon were that DAMN good, but guess what? They are that DAMN GOOD!!! If that’s because of Peyton, so what? They’ve shown up bigtime in the spotlight in the playoffs and will again today.

I’m sticking to 34-27 as this will be a very entertaining game. I don’t see many turnovers in the game, maybe 3 between the 2 teams. I see the Colts being up 2 TD’s with the Saints scoring late in the game to make the final spread...
