For years people have said hell would have to freeze over for the Saints to make it to the Super Bowl. Yesterday Washington DC was hit with a record-setting blizzard. Coincidence?
I was at the very first Saints game and watched John Gilliam run the opening kick back for a touchdown. Wish I was at today’s game but my brother and nephew are.
Don’t judge New Orleans by what you saw on TV during Katrina. There are a lot of conservative hard-working people around there.

My own theory is that Ronaldus Magnus, celebrating his 99th birthday in Heaven yesterday, was feeling mischievous and decided to send a little global warming to D.C.
The return of Colt’s cornerback Jerraud Powers to the lineup could be more significant than whatever happens with Freeney. The Colts have other good pass rushers, particularly Robert Mathis. Also, Colts have good blitzing schemes when needed. Colts were thin at cornerback and this should be a big upgrade.
There was a picture of Billy Kilmer handing off to the great Jimmy Taylor in SI this week. First time I ever remember seeing a picture of Jimmy in a Saint’s uniform.
