I confess to not having paid a lot of attention to the Tea Party movement. I did listen to a good deal of what was said today, and I liked what I heard. What I heard was a plan to identify voters who identify with a specific set of vital issues; then a strategy to get those voters to the polls on election day. I like the fact that the emphasis is on fiscal responsibility and constitutional governance.

I also would prefer that right to life be a priority; but, I might also wish that 2nd amendment and war on terror be priorities.

There is something happening with a new demographic that is becoming politically active and plan to not be a tool of the powers that be. I say, more power to them.

As we all know, thumbing one’s nose at authority is a time honored tradition in American history. Especially when that thumbing is aimed at public servants who reside in WashDC, state capitals and even in our local communities. This has always a big part of conservative activism and advocacy over the years. You might say conservatives learned that tactic well from the Founders&Framers.

While less taxes, less spending and less government is a right and proper goal made famous by Constitutionalists and conservatives, I don't think it helps rightwing politics when we push aside and ignore other issues, like support of Life&Liberty concerns and opposition to Roe v Wade and abortion on demand.

I get very uneasy listening to some of the Tea Party messages. Sounds like a lot of "moderates" giving short shrift to pro-life concerns for the unborn.
