So what happens to poor white kids in Billy's world? Are they tossed under the bus just because Billy is a guilty ridden lib-tard? These scholarships IMHO are a pre-emptive strategy to discourage lawsuits against Microsoft, whose workforce is almost exclusively white and Asian.
I doubt there is any guilt or ideology behind the situation. It's just business.

Well, they can always apply for another scholarship funded by the Gates Foundation - there appear to be at least four separate scholarship funds.
