My favorite breakup song is Together by the Miami Royal Palm Orchestra, from 1928. A British version from the same year by Ray Starita is available
here. A more recent song in that category that I like is
Bazoom, a bestseller from 1954 by The Cheers.
Below are some other great songs in this genre.
- Whos Blue Now? --Warings Pennsylvanians, 1928
- Whos Sorry Now?--Marion Harris, 1923
- The Song is Ended--Ruth Etting, 1927
- C. C. Rider BluesMa Rainey & Her Georgia Jazz Band, 1925
(I also like the version by Bea Booze from 1943)
- Thanks for the Memory--Bob Hope & Dorothy Lange, 1938
- Lawdy, Miss ClawdyLloyd Price, 1952
- I Went to Your Wedding--Patti Page, 1952
- Maybe Youll Be There--Gordon Jenkins & His Orchestra, 1948
- Its Almost Tomorrow--The Dream Weavers, 1955
(That's a group from Coral Gables, Fla., not a computer program)
- Tear Drops--Lee Andrews & the Hearts, 1958

A recording of "I Go to Pieces" by Del Shannon is available
here. This was a demo, apparently from 1964, which was not released until much later. I like it much better than Peter & Gordon's version.

Anna (go to him) BeatlesOne of the Fab Four's better songs. I like the original version by Arthur Alexander of New Orleans, which scored in the fall of 1962 and is available here.

I like “Wee, Wee Hours” better than “Maybelline.” Stick McGhee & His Buddies recorded a different song with that same title from 1952 which really rocks—however I don’t think it’s available online. I had to send to Germany to get it on a CD.

Last Date by Floyd Cramer. I always considered that a food song--about fruit that comes from palm trees.

The Blue Diamonds, a couple of Indonesian ex-patriots living in Holland recorded a German-language version of "Sukiyaki" in 1963 that is actually about eating sukiyaki. You can hear it
here. They also recorded an English version that is completely different and is available
here.

Rock-and-roll waltzes are rare. Indeed, they are, but here's one--Rock and Roll Waltz by Kay Starr.

Thanks for the videos :)
Thanks Fatima and MsBehavin taking the time to entertain our troops. I really appreciate what our troops are doing for us at this most dangerous time that we live. My prayers go out to them to stay safe and get the bad guys so freedom can continue for this great republic we live in. Thanks Troops!!! You are all super!!!
